KEEPING EARTH GREEN
At Meher Kakalia, we believe in supporting projects that help preserve our beautiful planet.
Therefore, we decided to make a green impact in cooperation with EcoTree and join a mission in order to fight against climate change and deforestation.
You will play a big role in this fight. Every time you make a purchase on our website, we will contribute towards a tree – let’s leave a lasting impact for future generations!
***WITH EVERY PURCHASE YOU CONTRIBUTE TO TREE PLANTING***
At Meher Kakalia we believe in sustainability and try to make small gestures every day to make a big impact in the long run.
Our motto and love is “Hand Made”, which uses minimal energy and chemicals.
In the creation of high quality and unique pieces, which are designed to last and pass on to generations, we strive to significantly reduce our impact on the environment through our operations, reducing the use of chemicals and water usage in dye processes, and minimising waste and over production.
MEHER KAKALIA GIVES BACK TO THE EARTH BY PLANTING TREES
What is the impact of a tree?
Trees clean our air and eliminate harmful elements from the Earth; in order to do that, they absorb C02 and store carbon, also producing oxygen. Forests act as a carbon sink for the planet, ‘breathing in’ a net of 7.6 billion tonnes of CO2 per year. Anything that maintains or increases that sink is absolutely crucial.
Sustainable forestry management at a global level is an essential response to climate change and fundamental to achieving the goals of the 2015 Paris climate agreement and the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals.
Multiple benefits arise from sustainable forestry ecosystems, including improved health and well-being, cleaner air, greater economic productivity, and employment creation. Of all the potential clean energy solutions, trees are one of the cheapest, most geographically dispersed, most efficiently deployed and most widely available resource.
Where our trees are being planted?
Our forest of oaks is based in central France, in Luthenay Forest. The Chamonts woods cover an area of 110 ha in the department of Nièvre (Burgundy) on the banks of the Loire near the town of Luthenay Uxeloup.
